BBC 1Xtra held a special two-hour show on Tuesday evening (May 25) to mark the one year anniversary of George Floyd’s murder.
1Xtra Talks: Pain, Power and Progress was hosted by Richie Brave, Seani B and podcaster Kelechi, and mixed topical conversation alongside performances from pivotal Black artists.
One of the artists to make an appearance is Ray BLK who recently celebrated her blackness with the anthemic “Dark Skinned.”
In this poignant performance she gives a moving rendition of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” before ending with some key lines from Twista and Faith Evans’ “Hope.”
