Nigerian-British singer-songwriter Shaé Universe has treated us to her first ever EP!
Unorthodox is a fitting title for this project as we hear Shaé merge the 808 slides and spartan drum patterns of drill with her soulful vocals and touching lyrics. Despite the ‘unorthodox’ R&Drill sound, it’s a style which Shaé has honed and become a champion of in recent times.
The 7-track EP houses the already released “111’, “You Lose” “Royalty” with Kojey Radical and the ENNY-assisted “Sit Back”, as well as fresh material including “Shineee” featuring Tay Iwar and “Wicked Ways”.
Speaking on the project, Shaé said: “This EP is so far from everything I imagined my first ever debut EP to be, but in a wonderfully refreshing way. I’m so excited to see what it does in the world!”
