It has now been announced that Northampton’s very own slowthai has debuted at Number 1 in the UK Album Charts with his second studio album, TYRON.

The LP was released last week (November 12) and serves as the follow-up to his debut album, Nothing Great About Britain, which peaked at Number 9 in May 2019.

“This is proof that with persistence, heart, and enough good people, anything can happen,” Slowthai told OfficialCharts.com.

I appreciate it more than ever. I just hope by making this music and using me as an example, I can show you that life does get better. This is for all the voices that haven’t been heard. We’re Number 1 in the UK!”

TYRON – which is this week’s top-selling vinyl record in the UK and the most most popular purchase from independent record shops – beat last week’s Number 1, Foo Fighters’ Medicine At Midnight, to claim the top spot.

Coming in at Number 3 are Manchester indie rockers Pale Waves with their album Who Am I?.
