As the coronavirus pandemic continues to cause global panic, Tekashi 6ix9ine – real name, Daniel Hernandez – reportedly wants to be released from prison early because of the infection.

Due to having asthma, the rapper has pleaded with a judge to cut his two-year sentence for racketeering short, despite originally facing 47 years.

According to a letter obtained by TMZ, Tekashi’s attorney Lance Lazzaro has requested his release as soon as possible.

In the letter which was sent on March 22nd, the letter notifies the judge over his concern that having asthma ultimately means that he would be more seriously affected than a healthy inmate if he contracted it. Further reports claim that he’s already experienced “shortness of breath” but prison officials allegedly won’t allow him to see a medical expert.

The 23-year-old hitmaker has just months left of his sentence as he is due for release on 2 August. According to attorney Dawn Florio, “he has been the perfect model prison since his incarceration.”
