Over the last few month the music world has been mourning legends from the industry who have sadly passed away, from Hot Chocolate lead singer Errol Brown who sang hits like ‘You Sexy Thing’ to Ben E King who sung ‘Stand By Me’ and was a member The Drifters to Soul legend Percy Sledge who sang ‘When A Man Loves A Women’.
Now the music world is mourning the loss of another irreplaceable individual, The King Of Blues, BB King.
King peacefully passed away whilst asleep at his home in Las Vegas, he recently fell sick with a Type II Diabetes related illness.
Earlier this month King expressed that he was in hospice care at his home.
With a impressive career lasting six-and-a-half decades, King racked up a remarkable 30 Grammy Nominations, receiving 15 Grammy awards in total along with being placed in The Blues Hall Of Fame and The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Up until he feel ill BB King would still participate in at least a 100 live shows a year, hits like ‘My Lucille’ which was about his Gibson made guitar, ‘Rock Me Baby’ , ‘Sweet Little Angel’ plus his cover of the ‘The Thrill Is Gone’ will forever be timeless classics.
By fusing Blues and Jazz together King inspired many artists from other genres to become great guitarist/musicians, from U2 to Eric Clapton thank him for his inspiration.
Not to mention there are multiple restaurants and clubs in america named after B.B King
Since the news broke artists have taken to social media to pay tribute.
