Have you got some spare money from not having anywhere to go during the April bank holidays? Well that could be the perfect excuse to invest in May’s freshest Top Tier Trainers.

We’ve rounded up some of the coldest trainers coming out this month and you can view the releases to keep an eye on below!

TBC – Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 720

Due to land this month is one of the most sought after collaborations in Nike history with the Air Max 270 React on the receiving end of the next Cactus Jack makeover. Nike x Travis Scott has hit many iconic silhouettes, but the rumours of this release started back in July, when the 270 React silhouette was first released.

The upper experienced a redesign, with a wavy pattern – similar to the Air Max 97 model –  dipped in a cream beige hue. The earthy suede tones are then used across the toe box and heel, greeted by a bold orange hybrid midsole – also earning a wave make-over. Another new feature sure to catch the eye is the chunky Air bubble taking place at the heel alongside the normal React foam that makes its way across the forefoot. Then completing the shoe, the pull tab has the traditional Cactus Jack cross plastered on it.

This shoe may be marmite but it is a trainer that I’m sure many Travis fans will be adding to their collection.

2nd May – Nike Air Jordan 5 Fire Red 2020

Delayed from its original April release, the Jordan 5 Fire Red 2020 colourway is boasting to steal the show. Crafted from smooth leather to enhance durability and breathable perforations on the side panels to keep you cool, the trainer is here to tailor to all your needs. The effortless colourway has hits of red to be found on the interior, heel and midsole, to compliment the crisp white upper and icy blue outsole underfoot. A staple silhouette with endless styling potential.

4th May – Nike Air Max 95 QS – Greedy 2.0

The brand-new edition of the Air Max 95 follows on from the 2015 original Greedy colourway. The Greedy 2.0 combines multiple great colourways to create one mega-hybrid shoe, which has proved a hit for the silhouette in past releases.

The upper stays in true classic AM95 form, shades of black and grey crafted in a blend of suedes, leathers and mesh. They are then met by pops of blue, green, red and turquoise on the lacing system, mini swooshes and the Air Max cushioning, completed with a white sole. If Greedy version one was a sellout, I’m sure these will be too.

8th May – Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Triple White

Making a bold return recently with the help of the slick Stussy x Nike collaboration is the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2. With already a couple of non-collaborative colourways released, many retro revivals and new colourways have been unveiled to keep everyone happy. 8th May sees the release of the university blue, triple white, pistachio and saffron.

9th May – Nike Air Jordan 1 OG Hi-Game Royal Blue Toe

Another Jordan 1 colourway to add to your ever growing collection is here. The OG Game Royal is a spin on the OG Royal colourway by adding in white panels for a summer feel. Crafted as always from premium quality leather, this blue and white Air Jordan 1 High is calling to be put on your feet.

14th May – Nike Air Jordan 4 Metallic Pack

The Jordan 4 Metallic pack has been on everyone’s mind since DJ Khaled took to his Instagram story to show off a preview. Finally ready for general release, the pack comes in team orange, purple, pine green and university red – the same four metallic colourways that were released as Jordan 1’s in 1986.

Although since it has been reiterated twice, in 2009 and 2016, it is the first time the Air Jordan 4 has received the metallic shine. The crisp white tumbled leather beautifully contrasts the metallic colours on the metal anchor, branding and Air-unit. A definite cop and a colour for everyone.

21st May – Nike Dunk Low SP Varsity Maize

Nike’s non-stop Dunk drops this year hasn’t stopped. Adding to the releases and resembling the infamous Brazil pair from 2001 is the Nike Dunk Low SP Varsity Maize. Crafted from premium leather, the pair dons classic colour blocking in the form of a yellow base with green overlays – a solid pair to rock this Summer.

23rd May –  Ben & Jerry x Nike SB Dunk Low Chunky Dunky

One of the most talked about trainers has been rumoured for a 23rd May release date. This special edition SB Dunk Low is a collaborative effort with the kings of ice cream, Ben & Jerrys – the ‘Chunky Dunky’. The unlikely pairings colourway in a vibrant combination of primary colours is reminiscent of the ice cream brand’s packaging design.

Combining an energetic yellow melted Swoosh, the iconic blue and green hills on the underlay and shaggy cow fur across the overlays, there is no denying this is one crazy shoe. And one that will probably be hard to come by.

More trainers may be announced for a later May release, but for now check back in next month for your hottest June trainers.
