From special anniversary Nikes and highly-anticipated Jordan 4’s to on-trend ‘dad shoes’ from New Balance, we’re going to be treated to some clean trainers this month and you can check them out below!

5th May – Nike TN Air Max Plus France

Thanks to the noughties grime scene, the Nike Air Max Plus – AKA Air Max TNs – are synonymous with the UK but this new edition of the shoe is an ode to France – specifically French basketball.

The tribute to France is most prominent on the top of the tongue which features the nation’s flag. The b-ball theme is reflected in the gridded basketball net graphic across the black uppers, as well as the tongues which feature the numbers ‘9’ and ‘3’ on separate shoes – presumably a nod to the year the French National Basketball Team faced the Nike All-Stars in 1993.

7th May – Nike Air Max 1 Treeline

To keep up celebrations for the 35th anniversary of the Air Max 1, Nike are gifting us with a special edition of the trainer in the form of the ‘Treeline’.

The shoe takes inspiration from the outdoors, with its beige, brown and green colours all acting as a nod to nature. The bright purple Swoosh contrasts to the rest of the shoe but the pop of colour makes for a quirky yet fitting addition to what will be undoubtedly be a popular release.

21st May – Air Jordan 4 Military Black

Jordan 4 gang rejoice – the highly-anticipated Military Black is finally dropping after months of previews and on-foot looks.

Simple and clean, these kicks puts a spin on the popular AJ4 Military Blue trainer from 2012; replacing all the blue accents for black. Dashes of grey also feature on the shoe, sticking to the uncomplicated colour scheme.

White Jordan 4s and summer are a perfect match and the Military Black will have you looking clean at all the BBQs in the next few months – if you’re lucky enough to get ’em!

21st May – Nike Air Max 97 Tan Gum

As well as celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Air Max 1, Nike are also marking the 25th anniversary of the Air Max 97 by dropping a range of colourways of the trainer and coming this month is the ‘Tan Gum’.

Made up of various materials including mesh, canvas, suede and cloth lining, it’s not the most refined trainer but its generally neutral colours come together nicely to create a retro theme. The Swoosh logo appears in baby blue which is nicely complemented by the tan and gum hue.

26th May – New Balance 990v3 Made In USA Marblehead

Dad shoes are all the rage at the moment and you can get in on the trend this month with the upcoming New Balance 990v3 drop. The 990v3 ‘Made In USA Marblehead’ is designed by Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis – who took over as Creative Director of New Balance’s ‘Made In US’ line last year.

It comes in a grey colourway with premium pigskin suede, mesh upper and textured suede details, which all form a sophisticated yet stylish trainer.

26th May – Jordan 6 Midnight Navy

After debuting in the 1990s and being re-issued again in 2000, the Air Jordan 6 ‘Midnight Navy’ is finally making a return!

Just like it was back then, the shoe is made up of a white leather upper and navy blue accents. Unlike the older version of the colourway, however; the outsole comes in icy blue which gives the trainer a more contemporary and fashionable look.
