Virgil Alboh the late great fashion designer, has had a scholarship created in his honour. Aimed at providing an under privileged Black British student, with the means to go on to achieve greatness. Abloh, who was a trained architect, was the creative director of Louis Vitton, and had his own iconic clothing line Off-White; was named as one of Time Magazine’s most influential people in the world in 2018.

The £35,000 scholarship will cover the necessary fees for post graduate study across design and fashion. As well as covering the fees, which could range anywhere between £14k – £33k, it will also provide internships and networking opportunities, both invaluable for anyone looking to break into the sector. Alboh was once a visiting professor at the Royal College of Art, and had previously set up similar scholarships in the US.
