A woman was condemned and reported to airport security after breastfeeding her hairless cat on a plane and refusing to stop when requested by cabin crew according to a new report.

The peculiar occurrence reportedly took place on a Delta flight from New York to Atlanta.

In a message sent to the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System, a staff member wrote that a passenger was “breastfeeding a cat and will not put cat back in its carrier when flight attendant requested”.

Detailing the ordeal on TikTok, flight attendant Ainsley Elizabeth wrote, “This woman had one of those, like, hairless cats swaddled up in a blanket so it looked like a baby. Her shirt was up and she was trying to get the cat to latch and she wouldn’t put the cat back in the carrier and the cat was screaming for its life.

“What does she do at home if she’s doing that in public and then security met the flight just to tell her that she couldn’t do that again, cause it was weird and gross.”

Delta’s airline policy does allow breastfeeding on flights.- with their policy saying, “Delta fully supports a woman’s right to breastfeed on board Delta and Delta Connection aircraft and in Delta facilities. Breast pumps are allowed on board. At the airport and if you prefer, many airports do offer private lactation rooms or spaces. Ask a Delta associate if you need assistance locating one at an airport.”

There is no mention in the policy if it applies to feeding cats and other pets though.

Pets are allowed to travel on planes but they must be kept inside their kennel or carriers at all times.
