The second season of Netflix’s hit series, Squid Game, is in the works, the show’s director, writer and creator has confirmed.
Hwang Dong-hyuk announced season 2 of Squid Game when speaking to AP News at a red carpet event.
“There’s been so much pressure, so much demand, and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice,” he said. “But, I will say that there will indeed be a second season.”
He added that the second season is “in the planning process currently”.
Squid Game is a Koren drama is set in an alternative world where people in debt compete in deadly games.
Since its launch in September, the first season of the series has been a hit with fans across the world, even becoming become the biggest series launch on Netflix with 111 million viewers.
Details of the second season are limited at the moment but we can expect it to be just as popular as the first whenever it arrives.
