Although the biggest news this week is undoubtedly Ghetts treating us to the long awaited sequel to his 2007 classic Ghetto Gospel – entitled Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament, he has missed this week’s charts so we will be looking forward to seeing how one of the greatest lyricists this country has produced fares in next week’s doing numbers.
Eminem’s latest polarising release Kamikaze, remains in pole position in the album charts; and three tracks from the album are all inside the top ten on the singles chart. Eminem took aim at many of his critics on his latest album, one of the unfortunate targets of Em’s pen was Machine Gun Kelly. MGK did not take lightly to this and responded to Shady in spectacular fashion on “Rap Devil” the track enters the chart this week at number 31.
Another stateside story this week is a surprising collaboration from Kanye West and Lil Pump entitled called “I love it”. The track goes straight in at number three, and has spawned a few UK spin offs since dropping. Cadet and Yungen both took on the instrumental to give us their version, check that out right here on GRM Daily if you’ve missed it.
B Young is this week’s highest charting UK artist with his infectious banger “079” still doing bits. Just a few spots below is a pair of UK artists with bright futures ahead – we’re of course talking about Hardy Caprio and One Acen with their banger “Best life” coming at number 29. Another great British collaboration is Fredo, Young T & Bugsey with Toddla T production on “Ay Caramba”. The track has edged its way back into the top 40, now at number 39. After picking up the Mixtape of the year award for Tables Turn we’re keen to see what Fredo has in store for us next.
Skepta has become something of a regular in the charts over the last few months, currently he’s got two new joints doing bits – his long overdue collaboration with Dizzee Rascal on “Money Right” check the track out here, and his wavey drop with WizKid “Energy (Stay Far Away)” catch up with the wavey visuals shot on location in Nigera right here. Both of these tracks are sure to make the top 40 in next week’s charts. One of the songs of the year “Praise the Lord” with A$AP Rocky still going strong after spending a whopping 18 weeks in the charts. Keep it locked on GRM Daily for all the latest news, new music videos and any chart developments.
