It’s been another massive week music wise and we’ve been truly blessed with some huge EPs, singles, music videos, sets, etc.
As there was literally (literally!) so much released in the past week or so, it kinda makes it hard for me to do these introductory paragraphs. Usually I like write a few paragraphs to round up all of the new tracks and videos that have dropped.. but, there’s so much of it this time around. So I’ll keep it brief and just say some of the artists with links, below:
A2 (More Sleep), Big Sean (Play No Games ft. Chris Brown & Ty Dolla $ign), Bugzy Malone (Behind Barz), Cadell (Preferences), Game (100 ft. Drake), Ghetto (Esco’s Spirit), Gucci Mane (Trapology), Gunna Dee (OCD), Fekky (9 Lives, Way Too Much ft. Skepta), Fredwave (Change), French Montana (Off The Rip ft. Chinx & N.O.R.E), Kendrick Lamar (Alright), Krept & Konan (FOTW Remix, Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems), Lay Z (That’s What I’m On ft. Jme & Frisco), Meek Mill (DWMTM), PBGR (Four Seasons), Orphgang (Orph House), P Money (Roll Up ft. Safone, Deadly & Blacks), Rihanna (BBHMM), Saskilla (N.F.T.R), Skepta (Back Then), Tinyman (Presence ft. Ray Blk & Nií), Young Adz (Daily Duppy), Youngs Teflon (Run DMC.)
I hope that covers it well enough! Haha.

Fredwave. Not sure how to put in words how much I enjoy this music. With a real mellow beat produced by the man himself, and some equally laid-back lyrics to match, “Change” sees Fredwave reflect on inner city living and struggle. Press play and feel the urge to put it on repeat.

So like about a month a go a good friend of mine told me to peep the new Kidd Kidd and Lil Wayne track, being the ultimate procrastinator i can be at times i didn’t check it. Finally when i got to peeping it i released what a absolute banger this is and how much of a idiot i was to be so late . After causally over looking a Lil Wayne feature verse on fellow New Orleans buddy, Kidd Kidd ‘Ejected’ i can honestly say that this is my summer track… You might think I’m gassing but the combination of the beat,Kidd Kidds flow, Lil Wayne comical lines and subject matter i can almost guarantee you’ll have it repeat for a hot minute….only if your late on the scoop like me.

Hailing from the current musical honeypot of Croydon, A2 is slowly moving out of the shadows with some of the best music out right now. Regardless of a handful of recent live performances the new gen singer/rapper remains ever elusive with sporadic musical drops. Treating his die hard fan base A2 has just released a brand new interim project entitled ‘More Sleep’ before ‘Blue’ later this year. “Love Song About Nobody” is by far my favourite on the mini EP.

After a long wait, including a jail term and rumored engagement to none other than Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill finally let the world hear his sophomore LP ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money’ this week. After a couple of listens, the album’s quality took me a little by surprise. Meek’s bars are up, his energy is still on point and the production is stronger and more varied too. That being said, one of the highlights of the project comes in the form of “R.I.C.O.”, with a slow and creeping backdrop provided by super-producer Vinylz, one that leaves enough room for Drizzy Drake to deliver his bars so comfortably. Meek also shines through, but I’d be lying if I said the 6 Man didn’t steal this show.

It’s impossible not to enjoy Fetty Wap, even though everyone wants to hate him. He and Drake are a crazy pair for manufacturing unforgettable hooks, while Flosstradamus are a crazy pair for formulating those hooks into heavy tracks. This remix is a welcome edit from all four involved and will keep the song even further embedded in your brain than it already should be.

On Friday, the UK’s chosen dynamic duo, Krept and Konan announced that Sunday would see the release of their highly anticipated album ‘TLWH’. As expected the album is a classic mad ting. Stand out track is “Dreams” featuring Ed Sheeren, it’s a definite winner. Mixing Ed’s star power vocals with Krept and Konan’s gritty bars, ‘Dreams’ lyrically illustrates a young person’s inner city struggle to overcome the trappings of a ghetto mentality. This is a heart felt BANGA! You can purchase “Dreams” as a part of ‘TLWH’ on iTunes now!
