U.S. mega star J. Cole has officially announced his long-awaited album, The Off-Season.

The North Carolina-hailing artist revealed the project’s artwork and release date on Twitter, writing: “Just know this was years in the making. My new album The Off-Season available everywhere 5/14.”

Due for release next week (May 14), The Off-Season will be Cole’s sixth solo studio album and will serve as the follow-up to his 2018 LP, KOD.

The rapper has remained somewhat elusive lately but he has treated us to a run of guest features in recent years, as well as the third Dreamville compilation album Revenge Of The Dreamers 3 which dropped in 2019.

Last year, J. Cole hinted at retiring in the very near future and also shared a cryptic photo which suggests The Off-Season is one of the last three albums he’ll ever release.

While details of Cole’s forthcoming project are slim at the moment, one thing is for sure – fans are eager to hear what has been “years in the making”!
